CPV Awards

We’re excited to announce that we’ve been nominated for the Care Provider Voice Awards in the categories for Best Supported Living Experience. This is a huge honour for us, and we’re so proud of our team for their hard work and dedication.
We’d like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us with our nomination.
The winners of the Care Provider Voice Awards will be announced on November 13th. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on our progress.

Rix – Communication Cafe

A recent event, the Communication Café at the University of East London (UEL), provided a vital platform for our Service Users to practice their self-advocacy skills and share their firsthand experiences with living in supported living.
During the café, Service Users presented to UEL students, offering a direct and valuable insight into the realities of living in supported living services. This was a crucial opportunity for them to develop confidence and articulate their needs and perspectives.
The feedback we received from the RIX Centre, highlights the profoundly positive impact the café had on our service users, staff and the students at UEL had. Their quote speaks to the warmth and skill demonstrated:
‘I’d like to pass my thank you to your residents on behalf of our students and the RIX team for joining us today. It was wonderful to share drinks, pastries, and conversations together. Your residents demonstrated such confidence, warmth, and beautifully developing communication and advocacy skills. We were especially impressed by the way they supported one another and shared their Multi-me profiles with our students, it made the experience so meaningful for everyone involved. I truly hope they enjoyed their time at the university as much as we enjoyed hosting them. Please pass on our sincere thanks to all the residents and staff who supported them today.’

Working in Partnership – Rix and UEL

Work is continuing with the University of East London (UEL) and Rix. Our Service Users recently completed a long-term Health Technology project, which involved the use of fitness trackers and diary recordings to support participants in monitoring their wellbeing. Alongside this, the Health Workshop focused on learning about healthy eating and living. In addition to these initiatives, we also provide placements for UEL students, offering valuable hands-on experience while strengthening links between academic learning and real-life practice. Looking ahead, Service Users will continue their engagement through the Big Ideas course offered by Rix, a 22-week programme beginning in November. Participation in these university-based projects not only enhances learning and skill development but also gives Service Users a strong sense of purpose and belonging, helping them feel connected to a wider community and empowered in their personal growth.
