ABOUT COMPANY

Welcoming you to Airthrie Homes

Airthrie Homes was founded in 1996 by Elaine Thompson, who wanted to create a more supportive and inclusive living environment for adults with learning disabilities. At the time, many people with learning disabilities were transitioning out of large institutions and into smaller, community-based settings. Elaine recognised that these individuals had never experienced living in a typical home, cooking their own meals, or choosing their own clothes. She was determined to make a difference and provide a more personalised and empowering living experience for them.

Airthrie Homes is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals with learning disabilities. We offer personalised care and support tailored to each person’s individual needs and preferences. This includes assistance with daily living skills, such as personal hygiene, dressing, and eating. Airthrie Homes also provides support with more complex tasks, such as managing finances, paying bills, and accessing community resources.

At Airthrie, we celebrate developing people’s goals and targets by recognising and creating measurable targets, no matter how small or large. We promote self-advocacy and inspire people to capitalize on their individual strengths by fostering a culture of commitment to working on themselves to achieve lifelong aspirations. Airthrie believes that maintaining a healthy mind, body, diet, and social, physical, and emotional support is essential for maintaining focus and reaching goals.
